FHI Farmed Product Line
Fish Head's Farmed product line currently exceeds 55 different species of coral. Over half of these (Farmed) species are produced from captive grown mother colonies that we have housed for many years. The FHI Farmed corals produced from these mother colonies are derived from 100% captive closed system coral growth.
Our cultured coral (frags) are cuttings of conditioned rehabilitated wild specimens. These cultured corals are potentials that didn't meet FHI Farm's strict broodstock criteria for commercial production. The result is a high quality, colored, conditioned and acclimated coral grown out for captive aquarium life.
Eventually all of our FHI Farmed coral will be produced from entirely captive grown mother colonies. The vision for the company is to have a self sufficient production, without the need for wild coral harvesting. The pinnacle of our vision and dream is to one day be able to return and replinish lost genetics to a wounded and/or devastated coral reef environment.
